Here’s a little about me: When I’m not consumed with school and homework (I just graduated with a MDiv and am going on to PhD studies in Old Testament) I find myself looking for creative outlets. As a part-time florist I get to use the beauty of God’s creation to express His beauty and minister to people’s souls. I dabble in landscape painting, bake bread to relieve stress, get addicted to Netflix, and drink too much coffee.
My passion is teaching the Bible and helping people read and understand it for themselves. In the past when I read the Bible I felt frustrated as I struggled to understand it. I read it but I knew there was more there than I could see. I wished I could understand it better. One day a friend helped me see and understand what I was reading. That was the beginning of a journey, a journey of wonder and discovery as I grasped the world of the Bible, stepped into the shoes of its ancient readers and saw its relevance for today. I want to share with you some of the tools and insights that were shared with me. In my journey and along the way Psalm 119:18 has been my prayer: “Open my eyes that I might see wonderful things in your Word.” God continues to answer that prayer as I pursue His Word for life.
(Not only does God reveal wonderful things in His Word but also through His creation. I get to live in a beautiful part of Canada with the Rockies to the West and the Prairies to the East. Both inspire awe in our Creator and remind me that He is worthy of worship.)
